ISO 37001:2016
ISO 37001 was published in 2016 by the new International Standard Organization for Anti-Corruption Management Systems. With this standard; It is designed for both the public sector and the private sector, with standardized, internationally accepted measures to be implemented by institutions to prevent and detect corruption.
- Thanks to the implementation programs of this standard, organizations are well represented internationally,
- Certification of the organization provides assurance to suppliers and customers that adequate procedures exist among their counterparts,
- It is designed to help the organization establish, implement, maintain and improve its anti-corruption compliance program and is intended to identify a set of measures that organizations should implement in a reasonable and proportionate manner.
It deals with both active (payer) and passive (receiver) corruption and therefore an organisation's;
- Corruption committed by the organization, its employees or associates on behalf of or for the benefit of the organization,
- It determines the measures required to address corruption by the organization, its employees or business partners in relation to the organization's activities.
The ISO 37001 Standard is a standard applicable to any organization in any country and is flexible and adaptable to a wide range of organizations, including the public and private sectors. It has the same structure as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 45001 and can be easily integrated into management systems already in place.
Today, in many countries, central government institutions have made it mandatory to have ISO 37001 certification, and it is envisaged that ISO 37001 will become a requirement for international public procurement activities throughout the institution's entire product and service provision.
Organizations with ISO 37001 certification mean dealing with anti-corruption issues raised by customers and suppliers, and it is thought that it will further develop awareness about corruption, which has become a major problem today.
ISO 37001 Anti-Corruption Management System Requirements;
- Implementing anti-corruption policy and program,
- Assigning the necessary responsibilities and authorities to supervise the program,
- Assessing corruption risks, including appropriate due diligence,
- Taking reasonable and proportionate steps to ensure that stakeholders have implemented appropriate anti-corruption controls.
- Checking gifts, entertainment, donations and similar benefits to ensure there is no malicious intent.
- Implementing appropriate financial, procurement and other business controls to help prevent the risk of corruption,
- Implementing reporting (notification) procedures,
- Communicating the policy to all relevant personnel and stakeholders,
- Providing anti-corruption training to employees,
- To reasonably verify that employees comply with the anti-corruption policy,
- To appropriately investigate and conclude actual or suspected fraud,
